Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters is Hiring a Barista Near Brewster, MA

Assistant Barista:

The first and foremost responsibility of the Assistant Barista is to wait on customers and provide a friendly, positive experience. The assistant barista is the first face that the customer will see upon entering, so it’s important to attend to their needs with a smile and convey information about our products in an informative yet non-intimidating manner. Constant coordination and communication with other assistant baristas, baristas, shift leaders and managers is key to the smooth operation of the floor.

  • Efficiently work the Shopkeep POS system, handle tender, run credit cards, and create gift cards.
  • Provide friendly, professional customer service and follow proper dialogue in line with Snowy Owl standards.
  • Serve food and drink offerings in a manner consistent with ServSafe standards.
  • Have full understanding of all of Snowy Owl’s offerings.
  • Provide support to baristas, shift leaders and managers.
  • Maintain clean and organized workspace.

Barista

Once all of the tasks aforementioned in the assistant job description have been mastered, a Snowy Owl Coffee employee will have the opportunity to learn to become a barista.

  • Efficiently and consistently make quality espresso drinks, maintaining quality standards set forth by Quality Control and the Café Manager
  • Effectively and efficiently dial in espresso.
  • Understand espresso theory, ratios, and brewing methods.
  • Maintain a clean bar, including tools and accessories, throughout service

We collect and pool both credit card and cash tips. Cash tips tend to be an additional $3/hour and credit tips tend to be an additional $6-$11/hour depending on the season we're in.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
