ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: A rotating Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities

* Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical office processes.

* Interviewing and generating Police Offense Reports from the general public via phone and in person.

* Data entry of offense and other reports into the records management system.

* Work with dispatchers to handle call load/volume and clear calls as they are being processed.

* Make occasional court appearances regarding reports that were generated by staff.

* Perform research of state law, statute and of other resources to assist in rendering excellent customer service.

* Review, reject and/or approve Police Offense Reports for consistency, accuracy and accountability for reporting policies and procedures.

* Photograph and/or generate video (victim) statements for assault reports.

* Also will be crossed trained in other areas of the Central Records Division.

* May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Position requires a High School Diploma or GED with minimum of one (1) year of directly related experience. Must be able to obtain TCIC/NCIC certification within six (6) months of hire.

Basis of Rating

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.

Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test.

Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.
