Job Position : Shipping / Receiving clerk

Location : Laverne, CA 91750

Pay Rate : $18.00 / hr

Shift : 1st 6 : 00 AM-2 : 30 PM

Job Description :

Verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments involving orders / Inventory.

Duties include verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material and arranging for the transportation of products.

May prepare items for shipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to routine materials.

Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.

Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of material.

Confer or correspond with established representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or non conformance to specifications.

Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.

Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter.

Deliver or route materials to departments using pallet jacks, forklifts, or bins.

Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped.

Manage bin transfers as needed

Communicate effectively with other departments to confirm order details when needed.

Provide direction to Receiving for incoming shipments.

Updating and maintaining the shipping scheduler.

Follow directions from Management

Required Skills / Abilities :

Bilingual English / Spanish

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation

Physical Duties :

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment and Physical Demands :

Team members must be able to stand for extended periods of time (Shift 8 hours)

Team members must be able to lift up to 50lbs (for example, you may have to periodically move cases of liquids)
