Cat Café Barista

Summary:

This new unique Café combines a single service (disposable cups and lids) coffee beverage café and with a cat lounge where patrons can visit with cats whiling drinking their favorite beverage. The new local St Augustine café will offer a variety of Bold Bean Coffee Roasters beverages and bakery items and offer a cat experience where guests can meet, visit and adopt homeless cats and kittens.

At Frisky Cat Café, our baristas will hand craft coffee and tea beverages for our guests. We are looking for cat and animal lover who will educate our customers about our mission to save cats and help make sure our guests have the best coffee ever and have the time of their lives while visiting. You will be the welcome wagon and social king or queen of the Café. We want you to love the mission we stand for as much our guests love petting cats. We would love someone with an open schedule and lots of availability, willing to work weekends and holidays. People skills like public speaking, patience with children, and a polite positive attitude help.

Who We Are:

Our café vibe is a newly remodeled minimalistic space that feels oh so luxe with our furry friends, Nordic styles, comfy velvet furniture, furry pillows, floor futons and coffee tables. Our café cats are skilled furry therapists. Our customers meet, play, relax and cuddle with highly social, pawsome cat residents and adoptable rescue cats by purchasing a cat experience. The cat experience funds our cozy environment and offers a unique therapeutic experience for cat lovers while sustaining a stimulating and comfortable home for lovable homeless cats until they are adopted. Proceeds from adoptions goes to Small Lives Matter Rescue to help fund their mission to save underage kittens and unwanted adult cats whose lives are ending at our local shelters.

Experience Required

To be considered for a Frisky Cat Cafe, the applicant must have at least one year of customer service experience as a barista, food safety certification and love animals.

Product Responsibilities:

Maintains the highest quality and consistently in preparation of coffee drinks

Maintains a strong understanding of our coffee and tea origins, differences in flavors, blends and roast methods

Proficiently prepares blended and cold drinks

Service Responsibilities:

Greets all customers with friendly, personalized service and develops a rapport with customers by learning their names, favorite drinks and food items

Verbally receives and calls back customer orders in a friendly manner

Reports all customer complaints to the General Manager or supervisor on duty

Responds proactively to prevent customer service issues

Accurately rings sales orders into cash register and counts back change to customers in a courteous and friendly manner

Answers telephone in a courteous and friendly manner including, but not limited to, giving store greeting, directions to store location, and receiving and filling customer orders

Answers customer questions regarding coffee blends, preparation, and product freshness

Is able to recommend beverages based on customer preferences

Up - Sells and serves baked goods and miscellaneous food items to customers.

Maintains efficient, friendly service.

Other Responsibilities:

Routinely cleans the bar area, floor, windows and grinders, and takes out trash, etc.

Follows all opening and closing equipment processes and procedures

Assists in the distribution of weekly shipments

Reports potential safety hazards to the manager on duty

Reports all employee accidents to the manager on duty

Informs the manager on duty of any operational inconsistencies

Restocks shelves when necessary

May work special events, as needed

Maintains positive Cat & Craft morale and professional attitude

Requirements:

Minimum 1 years barista experience

Able to work weekends as needed

Excellent verbal and written skills

Well-organized and detail-oriented

Regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear

Regularly required to handle food and hot beverages

Regularly required to lift and/or move items up to 30 pounds

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
