Job Description 

POSITION TITLE: Production Worker

SUPERVISOR: Lead Production Supervisor

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

STATUS: Full-time

PURPOSE:

Responsible for a variety of subcontract tasks within Industrial Operations. Assist supervisors in performing overflow subcontract jobs and reinforcing efficient work. Assemble products by using the following methods, including but not limited to: power tools, sewing, sanding, and/or grinding.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assure accuracy with regard to measurements.
  • Assist with time studies and job set up.
  • Maintain quality standards for all production
  • Work with staff to maintain a smooth flow of production.
  • Perform material handling duties for production needs.
  • Must be able to do such physical tasks including moving boxes weighing up to 50 pounds, without assistance, to place on a skid and bending, twisting, lifting, carrying, reaching, standing and sitting.
  • Cognitive requirements include talking, listening and visual acuity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
  • OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain a safe environment for all clients and staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all consumers and customers.
  • Attend meetings and training as required.
  • Maintain and create a positive, team-oriented environment.
  • ENVIRONMENT:

  • Occasional high noise levels may require use of hearing protection.
  • Moderate exposure to oil, exhaust or paint fumes.
  • Some jobs may require wearing safety glasses and gloves.
  • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience working in an Industrial environment.
  • Must be detail oriented and possess proficient math skills.
  • Must be able to operate normal and customary equipment used in the workshop, including floor jacks, two-wheel dolly, heat sealer, scales, saws, and drill press.
  • Knowledge of welding, sanding, grinding, and soldering preferred.
