Data Scientist/SQL Developer

Your background likely includes:

• 2 - 5 years of experience in data science or computer science fundamentals such as data engineering, coding in python, SQL and data structures
• Education or experience in Data Science, Mathematics or Computer Science
• Strong software development experience through hands-on coding in Python, Java or C#
• Ability to design and develop SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to extract, transform and load (ETL) data in an AWS (Amazon Web Services) environment
• Ability to enhance SQL queries using optimization techniques to ensure efficient data retrieval
• Some experience querying, creating and integrating data flows from Amazon Web Services (AWS), to include but not limited to, EMR (Spark, Hive and Trino), EC2 and S3
• A bonus to have military and/or DoD/IC experience in any of the following disciplines: data science, computer vision, target development, geospatial, or statistical analysis

What you will be doing:

• Developing and iterating upon a machine learning algorithm that can be optimized at scale against big data architectures.
• Conceiving and constructing working prototypes and first of their kind proof of concepts to push the art of the possible against real world problem sets.
• Providing technical support and assistance to other team members to include sharing SQL queries, providing outputs to analytic teams, and briefing leadership on significant milestones.
• Effectively communicating with the project team, user community, and client leadership to understand requirements and demonstrate iterative progress.
• Working in a dynamic environment with ever evolving requirements.

Bonus:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Machine Learning, or related technical fields
• Security or CISSP

Additional:

• Must hold a TS/SCI clearance and be willing to submit for a CI Poly
• All employees must start in the Washington D.C. office location - upon request and with customer approval, work locations at Reston, VA office may be available.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
