POSITION SUMMARY The Assistant Kitchen Manager is responsible for the support of the Kitchen Manager in daily operations.

This is a full-time and seasonal role.

This role involves a variety of tasks, including cooking, customer service, cashier duties, inventory assistance, and coordination with food vendors and deliveries.

The Assistant Kitchen Manager is expected to maintain food safety standards, manage staff shifts, and ensure a clean working environment.

This position must have a flexible schedule, including availability for nights and weekends, to accommodate the unique demands of our event-driven environment.

Up to 40 Hours per week Schedule : Now through August 30th : Flexible.

Sunflowers is open Thursday - Sunday September 3-24 : Monday - Friday 9-5 ish for setup September 25-November 2 : Monday & Wednesday- Friday 8 : 30 - 3ish & One weekend shift (flexible) ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following : Assist in cooking and food preparation for both customers and staff.

Provide excellent customer service and operate the cashier during service hours.

Help the Kitchen Manager with inventory management, including receiving and organizing vendor deliveries.

Enforce food safety practices and adhere to health department guidelines.

Perform bulk cooking tasks and ensure food quality and presentation meet standards.

Maintain cleanliness and organization inside the barn, outdoor food service areas, and food truck.

Manage staff on assigned shifts, coordinating lunches and breaks efficiently.

Uphold personal hygiene standards and model honesty and integrity.

Engage effectively with the public and farm staff, fostering a positive environment.

Work both indoors and outdoors, adapting to various weather conditions as needed.

Learn and utilize the cashiering program and multitask effectively.

Exhibit leadership skills, attention to detail, and maintain accurate records.

Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES) A passion for food and excellent customer service.

Serve Safe certification and knowledge of county health guidelines for food safety.

Experience in kitchen management, including cooking, scheduling, and inventory management.

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 60lbs regularly.

Leadership skills with the ability to direct and motivate a team.

Proficiency in prioritizing tasks and handling challenging situations.

Reliable, punctual, and maintains a clean and professional appearance.

Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills.

Communication skills for effective team and customer interactions.

Willingness to learn new systems and adhere to all health and safety guidelines.

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Ability to work alone and in large crowd settings.

Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including nights and weekends, to meet the needs of the seasonal attraction.
