Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance
The City of Waynesboro is seeking an individual for the Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance position.
Work will be performed primarily at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, but maintenance duties are also performed at the Water Treatment Plant as required. Work is performed as a member of the Water/Wastewater maintenance team to ensure planned maintenance and unplanned repairs are performed to standard. Travel to outlying Pump Stations is also required.
Typical duties involve diagnosing equipment issues, maintaining and repairing a variety of equipment types, using various tools, and keeping detailed records.
Physical Requirements:

• This is medium work requiring the exertion of fifty (50) pounds of force occasionally, up to twenty (20) pounds of force frequently, and up to ten (10) pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Work requires climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, and feeling.
• Vocal communication is required for conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, and quickly.
• Hearing is required for measuring devices, assembling or fabricating parts within or at arm’s length, operating machines, and observing general surroundings and activities.
• This worker is subjected to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme cold and extreme heat, noise, vibrations, hazards, and atmospheric conditions.
• This worker may be exposed to blood-borne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment including a respirator.
• This worker is required to wear the personal protective equipment deemed necessary by the City’s safety policy.

HS diploma or equivalent required.
Some shift and weekend work required.
Requires valid driver’s license.
Preferred Experience: General mechanical, plumbing and electrical.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office computer programs to include Word, Excel, etc. is preferred.
Starting salary for this position is $39,814.00 with the potential for salary increases by obtaining additional training/education.
