Wallis Engineering is Hiring a Construction Inspector – Part Time Near Vancouver, WA

Wallis Engineering is seeking a construction inspector with experience in municipal infrastructure projects, including pipelines and streets. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 10 years of inspection experience with a full array of municipal construction management, and/or inspection services. Strong verbal and written communication skills and proficiency with computers is required. This position is part time and hours are based on project needs.

What you’ll be doing

    • Perform physical on-site observation and inspection of construction projects.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable contract plans and specifications as well as applicable codes and regulations.
    • Review and interpret plans, blueprints, site layouts, specification or construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements and safety regulations.

    • Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, or elevation of structures or fixtures to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and codes.
    • Identify contract change orders and assist in their preparation and implementation.
    • Maintain daily logs and supplement inspection records with photographs.
    • Routinely convey verbally and in writing corrective measures needed and/or interpretations of plans or change orders to clients and other constituents.
    • Use sound judgment to elevate or gain additional information before responding to issues, concerns or questions.
    • Ensure communications are delivered constructively, guided by knowledge of the impact on clients and maintenance of a positive image and reputation of the company.

Compensation Range:

$35-$60 Depending on experience and benefits
