Independence Family Eye Care is seeking a full time Optometric Technician to assist our Optometrists with patient care. If candidate is seeking part time only we will consider this also.

Responsibilities will include:

The technician will be pretesting patients for routine and medical eye exams. They will be performing visual field testing, taking retina photos and other glaucoma testing.

The technician will be teaching patients how to insert and remove their contact lenses and will be ordering contacts for patients.

We use electronic medical records so computer skills are necessary.

You will be corresponding with patients and scheduling appointments when not in the exam room.

We will also train you to help on the optical department with frame selection for patients and checking in glasses from the lab.

Qualifications:

Computer skills and customer service skills are necessary

Medical/Optometry assistance experience is preferred but not required

Willingness to learn new skills

Compensation:

Hourly pay based on experience.

Quarterly bonus available based on team goals.

Job Type:

Full time 40 hours per week.

No evenings or weekends
