Caregiver (DSP) for Child with Special Needs – Colonie, NY [PG]

We’re seeking a paid ComHab worker (Direct Service Provider) for our son, 8. He’s on the autism spectrum, is non-verbal, and requires 1:1 supervision. He’s a sweet, gentle boy, but does require prompting toward appropriate behaviors and away from actions/objects that are unsafe. We're looking for staff who can supervise him at home as well as bring him out into the community, help him engage in activities, and develop life skills.

This is a 1-on-1 position starting at $22/hr.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Showing care, compassion, and encouragement to a teen with special needs.
-Supervision in the home and out in the community.
-Transportation to activities, special events, and appointments (mileage reimbursable).
-Ensure the safety of the person at home and in the community.

Qualifications:
-High School diploma or GED is required. Valid NYS driver’s license and personal transportation is required.
-Ability to work independently, demonstrate sound judgment and complete necessary documentation.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 12 hour shift
• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
