The Lighthouse Mission is Hiring a Temporary Facility Coordinator Near Bellingham, WA

Position Description: LMM is seeking to bring on a full-time temporary Facility Coordinator who will function alongside the team of staff to help create a safe, healing environment at the Agape Home for women and children. The Facility Coordinator will function alongside the team of Agape staff to help create a safe, healing environment for women and children and offer support to the case management team as needed. Working under the supervision of the Director of Women’s Recovery Services, this position provides administrative support, serves guests, and helps to facilitate program activities, including referrals, volunteers, donations, and classes & training. 

This is a full-time non-exempt temporary position with a pay range of DOE of $20.00 to $23.00 per hour. It is anticipated to begin on July 15, 2024 with an expected end date of November 1, 2024 with possible flexibility based on organizations needs. Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support and volunteer/events scheduling for the department.
  • Plan, approve, and receive in-kind donations in collaboration with the Advancement Department.
  • Oversee volunteers at the Agape Home- providing support, training, and continued partnership.
  • Teach classes for guests (ex: Life Skills, Changes that Heal, Exercise Classes, ect.)
  • Basic case management duties as assigned by manager or senior case manager; to include: documentation tasks, incidental caseload assignment, filling in for 1:1’s when Case Managers are out of the office, ect.
  • Responsible for all intake case management. 
  • Foster and maintain a safe, clean, and sober environment. Embrace LMM’s grace-based accountability philosophy.
  • Match program guests with spiritual mentors and facilitate referrals to other social service agencies.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation regarding daily shelter events, incident reports, attendance, medication and mandatory reporting. Oversee the proper handling of guest communication, including phone messages.
  • Administer urinalysis and breathalyzers for accountability and safety as needed.
  • Help prepare rooms for new guests by cleaning, doing laundry, etc.
  • Oversee reception functions including phones, security cameras, greeting, mail delivery and lead the intake process. Always ensure the highest level of Gospel hospitality is experienced at the Agape Home.
  • Maintain a positive, pleasant, and professional Christian attitude. Initiate and maintain open communication with LMM co-workers and guests. Work with other staff to model transparent and supportive Christian relationships, which will serve as a leadership example for shelter guests.
  • Provide and facilitate an environment that relationally shares with guests the full range of resources available to assist them in overcoming the conditions that cause homelessness.
  • Comply with all standard operating and emergency procedures appropriate to the site.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all communication and utilize the Release of Information form.
  • Attend all training and staff meetings.
  • Lead prayer and Christian devotionals in a group setting.
  • Any other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Organizational Relationships:

  • Works alongside a team of Agape staff, volunteers, and interns. 
  • Represents LMM, and specifically the Agape Home, to other social service agencies. 
  • Reports directly to the Director of Women’s Recovery Services

Qualifications: To include 1 years of experience working directly with individuals experiencing homelessness and completing administrative tasks. Or a combination of education, professional, and personal experiences that demonstrate the ability to fulfill all aspects of the job description. 

  • A passion for serving Jesus and making the Gospel known through mercy ministry. The successful candidate will have an active church/prayer life and be in agreement with the LMM Statement of Faith and Life & Personal Covenant.
  •  Have knowledge of and preferably experience with issues of homelessness, poverty, addiction, domestic violence and recovery. 
  • Preferred experience as a case manager. 
  • Able to use judgment to make independent decisions. High boundary setting and self-reflection skills preferred.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with program guests and volunteers. Sensitivity to cultural diversity in all forms is required.
  • Possession of skills necessary to remain calm and calm others in an emergency and/or confrontational situations.
  • Ability to interact effectively as a team member with effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with MS Word, Excel, Gmail, and Google Calendar.
  • Ability to report as regularly scheduled to work site
  • Ability to successfully pass pre-employment background screenings.
