Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Purchasing\Inventory Control Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for procurement, receiving and must have experience with ISO programs. Tracking, analiyzing inventory levels, selections of best shipping methods, abilitiy to manage multiple projects at one time. Negotiate vendor pricing, good written and verbal communications skills are crucial for negotiating contracts, interviewing new vendors, educatiing warehouse employees and improving processes, problem solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet the company's needs
- Source and procure materials, equipment, and services from suppliers
- Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors to ensure favorable pricing and delivery terms
- Monitor inventory levels and implement effective inventory control measures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and plan procurement activities
- Utilize MRP systems to track orders, manage inventory, and generate reports
- Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strong relationships with key vendors
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing initiatives
- Oversee the entire procurement process from requisition to payment
Experience:
- Proven experience in procurement management, preferably in a distribitor or industrial setting
- Strong knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, and inventory control principles
- Familiarity with MRP systems and their application in procurement processes
- Ability to effectively negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers
- Excellent analytical skills to evaluate supplier performance and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Associates degree preferred as well as formal training in purchasing\inventory management, accounting knowledge a plus
