Job PositionConstruction Estimator (Full-Time Position). To be considered, you must currently maintain 5 or more years of experience in the restoration/remodel industry. You will be a highly self-motivated person who enjoys the initial process of a restoration/remodel project by evaluating the scope of work and preparing an accurate estimate. You must have the working knowledge of all phases of a restoration/remodel project.

Position OverviewOur ideal candidate will possess the construction experience to enable them to estimate a wide range of projects. Our candidate will be able to handle multiple leads at a time working to get the project under contract and processed into our production team. Pacific does not expect a contract on every project… Yes, I said we will expect you to turn down some of the work that comes our way. In our experience, not every customer is going to be a good fit for Pacific and Pacific is not always a good fit for every customer.
This position will report directly with one or both owners of Pacific. The candidate can expect to manage five to twenty leads at a time (all in various phase of negotiation) and will be assisted by ownership if the workload becomes too burdensome. The average restoration project is $25k to $50k and remodel projects can be as high as $500k. There have been times in the past seven years that Pacific has handled projects in excess of $1.4m.
The ideal candidate for this position must possess excellent communication skills and will constantly be in communication with prospective clients, third party administrators, suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
Must Be Able To Perform
  • Receiving and scheduling new leads in a timely manner.
  • Site-inspections to meet with the potential client and listen to their needs.
  • Obtain accurate measurements to create a floorplan in the provided software.
  • Take accurate notes of the scope of work to be performed (seen and unseen).
  • Take extensive photographs of the site to support your scope and subsequent estimate.
  • Have a general working knowledge of building code as it applies to the scope of work being prepared.
  • Prepare an accurate estimate to the best of your knowledge with the information made available to you as well as your experience of the current market value.
  • Reach an agreed cost with our prospective client and their third-party representatives if any.
Qualifications
  • Excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of all phases of construction.
  • Knowledge of construction sequencing as it pertains to the estimating process.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Understanding of unit cost estimating and how unit costs are developed.
  • Xactimate Estimating software experience.
  • Knowledge of take-off software such as OST or Bluebeam.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clear motor vehicle record.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in residential construction.
  • Work well without oversight.
  • Friendly, honest, and outgoing.
  • Enjoys working in the construction industry to help clients restore/remodel their properties.
  • Must be a team player and work well with others.
  • Must be able to represent yourself with impeccable integrity.
Compensation Package
  • Starting Salary $60k-$70k p/yr. - D.O.E.
