Gentex is Hiring a Security Specialist - Part Time-1 Near Zeeland, MI
Position OverviewThe Security Specialist will be responsible for duties in the Gentex Security Operations Center along with duties as a Security Specialist as needed.
What You’ll Do
- Enforce emergency management and life safety policies, procedures and programs that address all key issues and concerns for compliance with company, insurance and government requirements or regulations.
- Respond to suspicious activity, write incident reports, liaise with law enforcement and security personnel and follow-up on and investigate security incidents as necessary.
- Investigate security and/or safety related incidents using technology; video surveillance, card access system.
- Provide overwatch to the security team during safety planning or relevant incidents using video technology.
- Complete detailed shift activities report and incident reports.
- Perform audits on various security systems.
- Must be able to follow security protocols and procedures with absolute accuracy and precision.
- Miscellaneous assigned duties and responsibilities to support the Security team, Facilities team and Gentex personnel.
- Maintain expertise on current security and life safety issues through literature and attendance at relevant seminars and meetings.
- Enhanced communication and organizational skills.
- Effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Assist the Security Manager and Security Specialist II as needed.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.
- Maintain high level of honesty, integrity and confidentiality with respect to company matters.
- At least 5 years of active law enforcement or active duty military in a law enforcement role.
- Ability to de-escalate hostile or potentially hostile individuals.
- Ability to assume the Incident Commander role during emergencies.
- Ability to effectively communicate with local and state authorities.
- Ability to work independent of others.
