We are very interested in applicants for our FOH Floor Leader position to have 1-2 years of on-the-job Restaurant Front of House experience. But really the most important qualities we are looking for are
As a Metzy's Front of House Floor Leader, you will work closely with our GM and will be deeply involved in training and cross-training our Front of House Team (Servers, Bartenders and Support Staff). You will be responsible for helping to lead, drive and meet the daily operational Goals of Metzy’s. You will assist in communicating Kitchen<->FOH workflows as well as dining areas to ensure an excellent Guest experience. You will help oversee all hourly FOH employees when you are scheduled, and will be responsible for administrative and leadership functions to ensure a smooth operation.

Metzy’s Front of House Floor Leader Job Description
Metzy’s Front of House Floor Leader is responsible for overseeing operational work-flows while on duty, and has specific responsibilities (to be delegated by GM) for helping to continuously Train and Develop rank & File FOH Staff Members. This position is responsible for supervising front of house staff while on duty and reports to the GM.
Interested Candidates should possess a natural sense and understanding of what it takes to have our whole Team reflect the highest possible levels of Hospitality, Guest Service and Satisfaction. Metzy’s FOH Team Members should be eager to learn, develop, show initiative, have a strong sense of urgency, be open to feedback, and committed to continuous improvement.
Opening & Closing Shifts
● Properly open and close the store by using and implementing FOH Binder Checklists.
● Oversee and assist in making sure cleanliness is maintained. Help FOH Staff in these daily/weekly tasks, leading by example. In some instances you will need to physically and specifically show how to complete a task in the way it should be done
● Responsible for nightly deposits & Cash reconciliations
Training & Onboarding
● Train incoming staff and all Staff on an ongoing basis on proper opening, closing, service, menu, drinks, and ongoing education.
● Reviews and quizzes for all FOH Staff are tracked and administered by FOH Floor Leader, with GM oversight and guidance.
● Expectation of all FOH Floor Leader to have an elevated level of industry expertise and understanding of our Brand and our Menu offerings so that they may accurately answer Guest and Staff questions and train Staff to be able to make make personal recommendations
● Edit and update existing Menu Descriptions and Cheat Sheets (Ingredients, preparation, garnish) for FOH Staff with help from the Kitchen – Continuous and ongoing expectation
Inventory & Ordering
● Participation in taking Physical Inventory on weekly basis, for FOH Paper Goods, Soda and N/A Drinks, Coffee, and gather Bar Inventory from Bar Leadership Team
Health & Safety
● Help the Team enforce and monitor all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
Control Labor
● Help keep labor to sales ratio maintained throughout the shift by use of Labor Grids provided by GM - Cut hours/shifts where needed or directed
Daily Log / Toast Payroll
FOH Floor Leaders are expected to fill out Daily log entries nightly
Leadership & Morale
● Help to maintain an overall positive team environment by role modeling Teamwork and Respect in accordance with Metzy’s Mission
● Continuously work with GM to approve, and Staff to motivate, incentive programs and help set realistic targets and Goals for FOH Staff to strive for and achieve, with executable plans for rewards
● Providing excellent Guest service to Metzy's Guests and excellent leadership by example to Staff
● Helping on the floor when and wherever needed- Host, Expo, Serving, Bartending. Lead in hospitality through in-the-moment coaching, role modeling, and utilizing customer feedback to reinforce and improve the quality of service
