Come join our dynamic and supportive team! We are looking for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant who is passionate about helping children on their pathway through life.

Part time, PRN, or full time employment options.

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist and assists them with responsibilities such as collecting background information, providing input prior to/during the pediatric occupational therapy evaluation, treatment for children with neuromuscular, developmental, sensory-motor, behavioral and/or emotional limitations.

Creating Pathways has been providing quality pediatric therapy to children in the Willamette Valley for 9 years! Recently recognized as one of the “Best in the Willamette Valley” in the specialty therapy category. We are a therapist owned company that is passionate about providing quality Speech and Occupational Therapy to children ages birth to 18 years.

Requirements:

  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant License (Required)
  • Previous experience with the pediatric population
  • Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and courteously. Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instruction.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a positive manner with children of all ages.
  • Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to document in patient files and forward accurate information to clinical staff.
  • Flexibility
  • Must be detail-oriented and can prioritize a variety of tasks.
  • Possess a helpful nature
  • Dedication to compliance and best practices.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills
  • Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself and other individuals to make improvements or take corrective action.

Responsibilities:

  • Verifies patient information for medical history, test results, and other pertinent information prior to each patient visit.
  • Helps pediatric patients improve their quality of life by helping them according to the treatment plan developed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Provides timely written documentation per facility and department requirements.
  • Prepares and submits patient charts accurately to provide appropriate billing information.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
  • Keeps supplies ready for use by inventorying and maintaining stock, troubleshoot equipment breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance, and ask for assistance when needed.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in continuing education, reading professional publications, and participation in professional organizations.
  • Reports any changes in patient status or needs to supervising therapist on a timely basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.
