Come join our amazing program! Salem Methodist Preschool is seeking a qualified Lead Teacher for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.

Responsibilities :

The Lead Preschool Teacher is responsible for opening the classroom, lesson planning, classroom management, and adhering to DCFS regulations, center policies and procedures, and local and state licensing standards.

Qualifications Relating to Experience:

• Teacher- At least 1 year of teaching in an early childhood setting preferred
• Experience creating curriculum and classroom management

Qualifications Relating to Education & Credentials: At least 6 semester hours in early children education Or child Development. Preferred Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in the field of Early Childhood Education

• ECE Credential
• Assistant- At least 1 year of experience in working with young children.

Skills: Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

• Strong working knowledge of early childhood education.
• Thorough knowledge of DCFS licensing regulations, developmentally appropriate practice, and the Illinois Early Learning Guidelines and Standards
• Interpersonal and other skills necessary to effectively build authentic relationships with children, families, staff, and the local community.
• Strong organization, attention to detail.

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
