Jefferson State Community College is Hiring a FT Welding Instructor (Pell City and Jefferson Campuses) Near Pell, AL

Position Summary

Salary: Based on education and experience commensurate with Alabama Community College System Salary Schedule D1 ($41,282-$92,513). This is a nine-month position. Summer employment may be available (an additional $12,746-$28,612) dependent upon enrollment.

This is a full-time teaching position with responsibility for planning, preparation, and presentation of quality instruction and for otherwise contributing to the fulfillment of the college’s mission. This position reports to the Director of Manufacturing and Technology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for instruction in the appropriate teaching environment(s) and evaluation of student learning.
  • Responsible for class and laboratory preparation.
  • Participate in curriculum development and evaluation and recommend new or revised curriculum.
  • Provide academic advising to students.
  • Perform department/program responsibilities.
  • Interact regularly with business and industry to stay current with changing needs and promote positive and productive relationships.
  • Perform institutional responsibilities which contribute to the fulfillment of the College’s mission.
  • Follow institutional policies and procedures and fulfill the terms of one’s employment.
  • Serve on College committees as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Associate degree in welding required
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of full-time related work experience as a practitioner in the field required
Certifications: Industry recognized credentials such as NCCER, AWS welding certifications in SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, etc. required.
NCCER instructor preferred and will be required within 9 months after hiring.
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and Certified Welding Educator (CWE)
preferred
