Position Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Senior Accountant will use their accounting expertise to ensure accuracy of Olam Agri’s financial statements. This position will manage monthly / year-end close, external / internal audit, and coordinate with external consultants on tax compliance and other projects.

Position Responsibilities

• Responsible for driving month-end and year-end closing for Mexico cotton business.
• Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers, and other records detailing and supporting business transactions in compliance with IFRS.
• Treasury: Initiate wire payments in USD and Mexican Pesos for payment to suppliers.
• Assist with the purchasing and sales review processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of recorded transactions.
• Review business processes for better control.
• Manage and coordinate reporting requirements and upload financial statements to the consolidation tool (SAP BPC). Respond to queries and requests for information.
• Work closely with the operations team on payments and coordinate with vendors.
• Maintain regular communication with the Olam Agri Mexico team to understand and comply with local business and reporting requirements.
• Support internal and external audit processes and requests for information.
• Manage and coordinate the corporate reporting requirements.
• Coordinate tax filings with tax consultants.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Prior SAP experience is preferred.
• Advanced experience in Microsoft Office is required.
• Able to efficiently balance recurring activities with ongoing projects and ad hoc requests.
• Proven ability to build relationships and work well in a team is required.
• Flexible and adaptable to a changing environment and developing processes.
