What does the StaffDevelopment Coordinator do?

You will oversee our staff training program (incollaboration with the Director of Nursing), assess what trainings needs totake place, schedule and provide those trainings, track progress, and more. Youwould play a integral piece in the overall success of the skilled nursing carecenter.

    In this job, everyday you will...
    • Determine and assess care center clinicaltraining and educational needs, develops an educational plan and reportseducation program updates to the Administrator and Director of Nursing
    • Assumes responsibility for directing thein-service educational programs and completing competency skills annually andas needed
    • Coordinates the onboarding and orientationprograms for newly hired clinical team members. Directs the preceptor and/ormentor programs for new employees
    • Supports recruitment of clinical positionsincluding contacting applicants, interviewing, conducting reference checks andcompleting new hire onboarding
    • Assists in the management of the InfectionControl Program and Antibiotic Stewardship including acting as an InfectionPreventionists (as required) and completing specialized training in infectioncontrol. Provides training to staff on infection control practices,investigates and reports incidents of infection and tracks infection data
    • Tracks and maintain team member credentialsincluding but not limited to licensure, Hepatitis B and TB, in accordance withPrestige policy and state and federal regulations
    • Participates in leadership team by activelycontributing in decision making, grievance follow up, building and company-wideinitiatives and attending leadership team meetings such as daily stand up,Managing Acute Care Conditions (MACC), Nutrition at Risk (NAR), UtilizationReview (UR), Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) and othermeetings as required
    Education & Experienceyou need to qualify:
    • You need to have a Bachelor of Science inNursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
    • You must have an unencumbered license as aRegistered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of practice
    • Registered Nurse preferred
    • Minimum of one year of nursing experience inacute or long-term care
    • One year in a supervisory or management positionwith experience with staff development, training and scheduling preferred.Individual must be a team player, well organized, and flexible
