Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have mechanical knowledge and experience operating various heavy equipment such as backhoes, loaders, graders, and escavators. If you have a background in construction sites and are proficient in horizontal drilling and paving, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, loaders, excavators, and other machinery to move, load, and unload materials.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Coordinate with the yard supervisor and other team members to ensure efficient workflow.
• Maintain accurate records of material movements and equipment usage.
• Assist with inventory management and organization within the yard.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.
• Participate in safety meetings and training sessions as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid heavy equipment operator certification/license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment in a yard or industrial setting.
• Strong understanding of equipment maintenance and safety procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret load charts, blueprints, and work orders.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various weather conditions.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with specific equipment brands or models used in our facility.
• Knowledge of inventory management systems.
• Basic mechanical skills for minor equipment repairs.

Working Conditions:

• Primarily outdoor work in a storage yard environment.
• Exposure to various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
