The Clinical Nursing position is responsible for providing quality nursing care to

patients/families seeking advanced reproductive services including general clinical, ARTS/IVF, or

float nursing assignments; works with other professional staff to provide services that reflect

the caring philosophy of FINO.

Major duties [include but not limited to]:

• Orders diagnostic testing in accordance with well established protocols.
• Provides screening examinations and evaluates results
• Maintains appropriate documentation in eIVF and ensures that all appropriate consents are properly executed.
• Works collaboratively with billing agents/FSRs to obtain appropriate pre-certifications for infertility procedures.
• Participates in clinical needs assessment of patients e.g., lab results, ultrasounds, hyperstimulation, ectopic pregnancy, multiple pregnancy, etc. and implements appropriate response.
• Provides explanation of medical/nursing procedures and ensures appropriate patient education and physical and emotional support during procedures.
• Assists physician with physical exams and procedures e.g., inseminations, transvaginal ultrasounds, and other appropriate procedures as per protocol and within nursing scope of practice
• Provides appropriate nursing/medical clinical instructions and assistance with patient follow-up, including laboratory results, medication adjustments, pregnancy adaptation and transition.
• Triages patient’s calls and provides appropriate follow-up and resolution.
• Provides patient instruction, teaching and/or administration for necessary treatments/medications.
• Makes follow-up appointments
• Coordinates patient care with other FINO locations as needed
• Review correspondence in eIVF throughout the day and respond to patients in a timely manner
• Complete task assignments in eIVF throughout the day
• Surgical scheduling (i.e. hysteroscopy, D&C) for the assigned office- pre-certifying surgical procedures if applicable, along with scheduling a pre and post-operative visit if required. This includes coordinating schedules with the surgical centers and surgical scheduling, sending over pre-op forms and providing the surgical centers with benefit/auth info for each patient. Ensures that patient has been scheduled for any necessary testing prior to surgical procedure (i.e., Covid-19).
• Responsible to cover the clinical nurse position for absences, vacations or any other requested time off. Travel may be required
• Checks emails throughout the workday, everyday
• Reports to work in a timely manner according to scheduled shift
• Attends required meetings and participates in team activities and professional development activities
• Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
• Provides a safe and clean working environment.
• Ensures/maintains availability of supplies and equipment necessary for patient care services.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to coordinate different protocols for different physicians accurately
• Ability to multi-task in a stressful, deadline-oriented, busy team environment
• Ability to communicate with coworkers, providers and patients in an effective manner.
• Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical record system.
• Support mission and vision of FINO; committed to maintaining high quality patient care and supports the goal of a positive patient experience. Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitudes towards patients at all times. Acknowledge and resolve customer complaints.

Required Qualifications:

• Current licensure. State of Louisiana required.

• Excellent Interpersonal Skills
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Work weekends and holidays as scheduled, inclusive of on-call responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI) and/or IVF experience
• Phlebotomy skills

Essential Physical Requirements (ADA):

• This position requires you to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
• The person in this position needs to occasionally move around the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc
• Physical effort/lifting up to 10 pounds
• Ability to prepare/operate lab/medical equipment and devices
