Additional responsibilities include: Reviewing staffing patterns and census of nursing units; reassigning personnel when necessary to ensure residents needs and budgetary controls are met Managing and analyzing patient care following admission/readmission; conducting initial assessment for newly admitted or readmitted patients Assisting in creating and implementing care plans that address individual residents' needs Administering medications, IV therapy, gastronomy tube management as well as some wound care Monitoring residents and communicating changes to physicians Ensuring appropriate documentation of resident care and maintaining medical records to ensure safe, efficient and therapeutic care to residents Troubleshooting and investigating complaints, taking necessary action to resolve problems as necessary Additionally, you must have: RN or LPN License, in good standing 1 year of experience as a nurse, experience in a long term care facility preferred Effective communication skills Ability to organize, prioritize and maintain confidentiality and react decisively in emergencies Exceptional supervisory skills, taking a proactive role to supervising and developing nursing team Excellent training skills, ability to provide hands-on training to nursing staff Good problem solving and independent thinking skills Case management skills, comfort with client relations Job Types: Full-time, PRN Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Employee assistance program Flexible schedule Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance Medical specialties: Geriatrics Physical setting: Long term care Standard shift: Night shift License/Certification: LPN or RN in Kansas (Required) Work Location: In person
