Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized, enthusiastic and experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee our distribution center operations. The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for managing inventory control, transportation planning, and ensuring efficient and timely dispatching of freight. Managing paperwork from deliveries & shipments, updating records, and performing related duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and a thorough understanding of logistics and warehouse management.
Duties: (include but are not limited to)
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the distribution center, including receiving, storing, and shipping of products
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures to ensure accurate stock levels
-Supervise warehouse staff, providing guidance and training as needed. - Supervising proper shift allocations of warehouse staff
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Implementing production, productivity , quality and customer service standards
- Knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications
- Ensuring the proper functioning of all warehouse tools and equipment
- Keep equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, requiring preventive maintenance , calling for repair
- Maintain all warehouse vehicles and property maintenance
- Collaborate with other departments to improve overall supply chain efficiency.
- Moving around display merchandise on request of display coordinator
- Handles freight claims with vendors and responsible for ordering service parts and scheduling customer service calls
- Repairing stock and customers merchandise
Requirements:
- Valid NY State Drivers License with Clean Record - Must be able to lift, carry and move heavy items - Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or similar role in a distribution center setting
- Strong knowledge of inventory control principles and practices
- Experience with transportation planning and dispatching of freight
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel crouch and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm & Saturday 7:30am - 11am
Job Type: Full-time Salary: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
