The School Counselor assists and supports Villa Maria Academy students throughout their high school careers in the areas of academic achievement, personal and career development, and social/emotional maturity. The counselor collaborates with the faculty, staff, parents, administration, and external supports. As a member of the VMA community, the individual supports the mission and core values of Villa Maria Academy.

Qualifications
Education/Certification: Master’s degree in school counseling
Valid PA counseling certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of counseling procedures, student appraisal, and career development Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Experience: Three (3) years teaching experience required at grades 9-12 Three (3) years counseling experience preferred
