Compensation for this role:

Starting Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour, depending on experience

Additional Pay Opportunity:

  • Bilingual Pay Differential – additional $3 per hour pay premium for employees who utilize a qualifying second
language in the workplace, applicable to all hours worked.

Position Status: Hourly, non-exempt, full-time

Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm; this position has some flexibility and hybrid work

from home options.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR –

This position’s primarily function is to serve as a Mobile Housing Assessor. The Mobile Housing Assessor is

responsible for providing housing advocacy and safety planning for survivors of domestic violence that have

been referred to the YWCA through our various systems or through self-referral.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING –

This position’s primary responsibilities include;

  • Provide mobile advocacy to survivors that identify a housing need including; systems advocacy, DV
education, safety planning, crisis intervention, resource referral and goal setting.
  • Apply the diversion first model, ensuring survivors are able to utilize all of the safe resource options
available to them before financial interventions are offered. All financial interventions will be offered using

progressive engagement.

  • Provide coordinated entry assessments for survivors of IPDV. Monitor assessments for proper referral
placement and reassessment when needed.
  • Provide on-going housing advocacy for any survivor whom identifies as needing assistance with the
housing program, triaging and assessing the frequency and urgency of client’s need for on-going

advocacy and safety planning.

  • Maintain client files and track records in accordance with the YWCA policies and standards.
  • Communicate with local landlords, housing programs, and other community partners on what housing
and other resources the YWCA offers, as well as what available units and/or resources they have available.
  • Attend appropriate community meetings related to housing and education, and maintain a good working
knowledge of housing options for domestic violence survivors.
  • Assist survivors getting on the YWCA section 8 waitlist and assist with the application process when
needed.
  • Facilitate road to renting class, which is offered on a monthly basis.
  • Attend walk-in housing hours on a monthly rotation.
  • Attend walk-in hours for coordinated entry assessment.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
preferred.
  • Experience in Domestic Violence or Advocacy is highly desirable.
  • Must maintain 20 hours of ongoing training on domestic violence issues annually.
