LOCATION: Multi-site

REPORTS TO: Practice Operations Manager 

POSITION SUMMARY 

We are looking for an Area Specialist that will be responsible for supporting a geographically dispersed team in multiple clinics. Cross-trained in both Medical Assistant and Patient Services to be able to backfill open positions as needed. Tackling of day-to-day responsibilities associated with supporting assigned clinics. Able to travel to multiple locations.

  • Provides support and training to clinical and patient services staff. 
  • Support of inventory process 
  • May provide assistance in development and implementation of process
  • Foster teamwork between staff 
  • Supports the expectation of professional, ethical and “patient focused” conduct 
  • Develops effective working relationships with peers and physicians
  • Represent the practice in the communities they are located in
  • Attend meetings and calls as required
  • Provide back up support to Medical Assistants or Patient Services Representatives in assigned clinics 
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATION/ CRITICAL SKILLS 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Aptitude with computers to use email, excel, and Microsoft 
  • Ability to lead by example

SCHEDULINGA typical schedule is Monday to Friday 

TRAVEL: Local travel is required to locations within your assigned geographic region. This role will be assigned to cover a geographic area; however, you may be required to occasionally travel outside of your assigned regional area to support the other regional coverage needs of the organization. The role must have reliable transportation and be able to travel from site to site, as assigned.

EDUCATION: 

  • Continuing education preferred 
  • Medical Assistant certification with 2 years in a healthcare position preferred.
