ULF Janesville, LLC is Hiring a Transportation Clerk Near Janesville, WI

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for providing record keeping and administrative support to the Transportation Department in the areas of DOT Compliance and interacting with drivers to support ULF Janesville, LLC initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs a variety of clerical, customer service and administrative duties to support operations.
  • Ensure all required paperwork, including labels, packing lists and transport instructions are prepared.
  • Utilizes tracking systems to input or look up information.
  • Complies with all OSHA and other regulations, policies, safety procedures, and documentation requirements.
  • Compiles and accurately enters data to ensure proper record keeping.
  • Responsible for gathering, error checking and storage of DOT materials and company Fleet documents in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintains electronic driver logs, driver files and essential DOT documentation in compliance with state and federal transportation laws and regulations. Ensures all records are up to date.
  • Creates dispatch paperwork for drivers.
  • Responsible for maintaining confidential records.
  • Track and provide reports on daily routes, drivers & equipment.
  • Coordinates with Human Resources department to provide required onboarding paperwork for employee files.
  • Requires shift work including but not limited to afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Company, and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge, and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
  • Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.
  • Core schedule is 4 days per week at 32-40 hours per week with days/hours varying to include 1 weekend day with a typical starting time of 12pm.
  • Cross training to support warehouse clerical coverage as needed.
  • Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience

  • >1 year experience in a transportation position (preferred)
  • >2 years clerical experience (required)
  • Demonstrates proficient knowledge of general DOT regulations (preferred).

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adjust communication styles base on audience.
  • Proficient computer skills to learn, utilize and teach using resources available.
  • Microsoft Office Suite

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with general routing software.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION & WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Typical office environment with desks, chairs, computer equipment/monitors, overhead shelves & filing cabinets. Sitting/Standing at workstation 85% of the time; standing/Walking away from workstation 15% of time; frequent telephone interaction; work may include walking through noisy warehouse environment.
  • Infrequent travel <10% of time.
  • Reasonable accommodation may be made to individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
