ABOUT THE UTILITY

Tillamook People’s Utility District (PUD) is a customer-owned electric distribution utility providing electric service in Tillamook County and parts of Clatsop and Yamhill Counties in Oregon. Currently, we serve about 23,000 customers in an area of 1,125 square miles.

PUDs tailor services to meet the needs of those they serve, and Tillamook PUD is no exception. We offer a wide array of programs for residential, commercial, and industrial customers. Programs include weatherization, lighting efficiency, heat pump programs and much more.

Tillamook PUD is governed by a five-member Board of Directors, elected by the voters within its service area. The Board sets rates and policies, with the goal of providing the most benefit to our customers. Tillamook PUD is a unique kind of business. It is not-for-profit and created by the community to serve the community.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Public Relations Intern works alongside the Community Relations Coordinator and Public Relations Manager assisting with a variety of projects and tasks. The Public Relations Department is responsible for the communications, marketing, economic development, and community outreach aspects at Tillamook PUD. Duration of internship will be June 2024 to September 2024.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Digitizing historic data.
• Maintaining and developing new content for the District’s social media platforms.
• Assisting with the planning and implementation of events.
• Assisting with projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• The ideal candidate will be at least 18 years of age.
• Have earned a high school diploma or G.E.D.
• Professional or educational experience in the field of Communications.
• Proficiency with standard operating systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Social media familiarity.
• Graphic design capabilities.
• Event planning experience.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
