Thompson Ecumenical Empowerment Group (TEEG) is Hiring a Youth Advocate Near North Grosvenordale, CT

TEEG is looking for outgoing, open-minded individuals to join our team. Our programming focuses on health, safety, and the future of youth in our community. TEEG is a 501(c)3 community service agency located in North Grosvenordale, Connecticut. We have provided services to individuals and families in northeast Connecticut since 1988.

35 hours per week, requires flexibility, occasional evenings and weekend activity coverage

Qualifications:

*Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field, or 5 years of comparable experience

*Demonstrated experience working in youth and family support

*Good knowledge of local and regional services and supports

*Strong organizational skills

*Excellent communication skills

*Ability to work flexible hours and flexible duties

*Ability to work with school staff to strengthen support systems

*Clean record with State Bureau of Investigations, Department of Children and Families, and Motor Vehicle

*Dependable transportation

Duties:

*Assist with in-home case intake

*Assist students with attendance, including home visits, telephone calls, and occasional transportation to school

*Youth Mentoring Programs: provide mentoring services to youth, complete intakes and required paperwork, complete data entry

*Recommend and coordinate other TEEG supports and services for youth and families.

*Under supervision of Youth Programs Manager - engage in development and implementation of new youth programs

*Work in All-Star Adventure Program (held during summer and school vacations): program promotion, development, scheduling, transportation and shopping. Track attendance and data entry

CPR / First Aid certifications a plus
