Tired of the same old desk job? Ditch the spreadsheets and grab your notebook, because The Sentinel-Record is searching for a star reporter to join our dynamic team!

You’ll be on the front lines, reporting everything from local politics to heartwarming events.

No two days are the same! Your schedule will be flexible, but expect some nights and weekends to chase that breaking news story.

We're based in Hot Springs, Arkansas. This position is not eligible for remote work.

You are…

• A demonstrated wordsmith extraordinarie with a knack for crafting informative and engaging stories.
• A news nerd, keeping up with the latest topics to generate leads and develop compelling stories.
• A multitasking master who can juggle breaking news, local events and everything in between.
• A team player who enjoys collaborating with passionate professionals.
• A tech-savvy go-getter open to exploring new media formats.

What you’ll do:

• Produce new articles daily for The Sentinel-Record’s array of products (hotsr.com, digital editions, newsletters, social media)
• Develop your own story ideas from happenings in our local community.
• Work closely with other members of our newsroom to create engaging content for our readers.

What you’ll need:

• BS/BA in journalism, communications, English or related discipline, or 1 year of writing experience.
• A valid driver’s license.

This is a Safety-Sensitive position pursuant to Act 593 of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment
