Direct Support Professional / Caregiver
Currently hiring three Part-Time Direct Support Professionals assisting adults with intellectual disabilities in our West Seattle facility. These positions will require some weekend work. The facility is a group home setting where 8 adults with intellectual disabilities reside.
Duties for which you would be responsible include the following: facilitating integration of the residents into the community, assisting the residents to be as independent as possible, cleaning, cooking, instruction, documentation, transportation of residents, assisting with medication, providing first aid when needed, assisting adults with personal hygiene (including bathing, dressing, lavatory needs for all genders), providing supportive listening, assisting residents through behavioral challenges and implementing alternate behavioral strategies.
A valid HCA (Home Care Aide), NA-C (Nursing Assistant- Certified) or NA-R (Nursing Assistant - Registered) credential will be required within 120 days of hire. We can certainly assist you in getting an NA-R ; however, preference will be given to those who already have one of the required credentials.
Any necessary training is PAID.
Absolutely necessary are the following prerequisites:
Ability to read/write/speak in English (the language of the residents)
Basic computer skills as much of the documentation will be done online
Ability to attend mandatory training sessions as needed
Must pass fingerprint-based criminal background check
WA state Driver License (or ability to get one within 30 days of hire) and good driving record.
Job Types: Part-time
Salary: starting at $21.00/hr; up to $23.00 depending on experience and certification.
Scheduled shifts needed: Overnight (P/T) : Sunday overnight, Wednesday overnight and Thursday overnight. This overnight shift would be either 9pm-7am or 10pm-8am. Total of 30 hours/week. This position has the option to add in 10 additional hrs/wk (schedule would vary dependent on resident need) for those who would like 40 hrs/week.
Day shift (P/T) : must be able to start by 6am. Shift would include Saturday, Sunday and Monday 6am-2pm (24 hrs/week). This shift has the option to work until 6pm on Saturday and Sunday if employee desires (total would be 32 hrs/week).
Afternoon/Evening shift (P/T) : Friday-Sunday (2pm-10pm) . This shift will require some daytime training during the first two weeks.
