UmbraGroup is Hiring a MRO Planner/Buyer Near Saginaw, MI

Description

Summary:

The MRO Planner / Buyer will be responsible for several activities in the FAA Repair Station, including planning and buying and customer order interface. This position must adhere to all FAA, as well as all internal, regulations and procedures.

This position is in our Saginaw, Michigan facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operates as the point of contact for assigned customers and quotes product pricing to customers from Global price list
  • Develops and maintains long-term relationships with customer accounts
  • Communicates customer requests for schedule changes and provides resolution to Customer
  • Communicates concerns or schedule delays to Customer
  • Manage projects within customer relationships, working to carry out customer goals while meeting company goals
  • Maintains product returns from Customer, along with working to resolve any discrepancies or issues
  • Coordinate smooth functions of and interfaces daily with sales, customer service, quality, and all suppliers to ensure all customer needs are addressed and customer ship dates are met
  • Participate in transfer order meetings of product supply chain requirements as scheduled
  • Support implementation of manufacturing and procured materials
  • Generation/Ownership of purchase orders/scheduling agreements with suppliers
  • Prepare P.O.’s and shipping documents for outside operations
  • Plan and purchase materials to support MRO workflow requirements
  • Monitor MRO inventory levels to drive quick turn improvements and eliminate obsolete and excessive inventory
  • Negotiate delivery and establish and implement programs designed to reduce inventory and improve component availability
  • Develop strategic suppliers and eliminate high-risk, low-volume suppliers
  • Follow up on late shipments, working with supplier quality resource as necessary
  • Provide a reliable forecast with updates as data changes to suppliers and internal management
  • Update and maintain the supplier and parts master file with the latest information
  • Produce new shop order travelers for customer and stock orders. Also provide Shop order support for all traveler on the shop floor 
  • Communicate with all departments and levels of management
  • Travel as necessary to customers, trade shows, suppliers, contract maintenance providers and training seminars
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Due to ITAR regulations, must be a US Person 
  • At least 3 years related experience in a repair/ overhaul environment 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 1-3 years customer service experience
  • 1-3 years buying experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 1-3 years manufacturing planning experience
  • Excellent documentation skills and proficient with Microsoft Office software
  • Experience with FAA Repair Station Federal regulations and procedures highly desirable
  • Experience with AS and ISO requirements desirable
  • Self-motivated team player 
  • Hands on approach, willing to “roll up the sleeves”, and be a part of the solution 

Language, Math, and Reasoning Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, drawings, procedure manuals, professional journals, government regulations, and technical procedures. 

Computer Skills:

Must be computer knowledgeable in Microsoft Office. D365 knowledge desirable.

Work Environment:

Office along with factory and article repair environment where the noise levels are moderate to loud.
