Job description
Tri-State Traffic Data Inc. is looking to hire Traffic Data Field Technicians to help conduct short term machine traffic counts for MaineDOT and private engineering firms.

The work entails setting out both road tube traffic counters and video cameras at various sites around the state along with the adminstrative/computer work done at home.

Traffic counts will be conducted on all types of roadways ranging from low volume rural roads to high volume Interstates. The interstate counts are conducted using the video cameras.

Candidates must have the following:

- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

- Basic computer skills.

- Be proficient using email and have some MS Excel

- Physically fit and able to move quickly when needed.

-Be able to work independently once trained

Candidates will also be responsible for a wide range of duties which include, but are not limited to:

- Placing/ securing count tubes to the pavement using a .22 Caliper Hilti gun.

- Using Mapping programs to travel to specific destinations.

- Setting up, and downloading of traffic count machines/Cameras onto a computer

- Maintaining / cleaning of the company vehicle

- Maintaining proper supplies in their work vehicle to complete assigned tasks

Candidate must enjoy working outside in all types of weather, be mechanically inclined, pass a company drug test. They must al so be trustworthy, punctual, self-motivated and work well independently once fully trained.

Most of your weekends will be off from field work as well as major summer holidays (Memorial Day/July 4th/Labor Day). The work season for this position is late April-early November.
