Vermont Agency of Education is Hiring a Behavior Specialist/Restorative Practices+PBIS Coordinator Near Waterville, VT

Waterville Elementary School is looking to hire a trauma informed, Behavior Specialist/Restorative Practices and PBIS Coordinator who will be responsible for providing social, emotional and behavioral universal supports to students. This individual will collaborate with the building principal, school counselor, teachers and support staff to develop/coordinate behavior support plans that improve learning and support personal growth, establish effective rapport with students and motivate them to develop skills needed to improve their positive behavior in the school environment. This individual will engage in the Restorative Process with individuals and groups of students to increase student engagement and resolve conflict.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Work with teachers and staff in the identification and development of individual, small group, and whole group interventions intended to change behaviors using evidence-based strategies such as restorative circles

Respond to and manage appropriate interventions for students in need of additional assistance

Collect data regarding student behavior and conduct research of current behavior interventions being used

Knowledge of PBIS and SWIS, incorporating this into data collection and behavior supports

Deliver professional development for school staff on Restorative Practices, crisis management strategies including deescalation, restraint and seclusion, anger management, as well as other topics as needed

Communicate with parents/guardians as needed

Maintain confidentiality of student, family and other information

Keep the building principal and teachers informed of student progress, incidents and concerns

Working with school administration, investigate bullying and harassment complaints utilizing the school's policies and procedures

Complete required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner, including Rule 4500 paperwork requirements

Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal for the purpose of building and maintaining a safe learning environment for all school community members

Abide by all school policies, procedures and state and federal laws.
