Duties

  • Analyze, modify, and design information technology networks, systems, or facilities.
  • Determine appropriate system, equipment, and network design to efficiently satisfy user needs.
  • Verify or determine extent of systems modification or design required to meet user needs.
  • Provide technical assistance, and attend meetings and briefings related to project assignments. Keeps abreast of state-of-the-art technology in the information technology field.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • One year trial period may be required.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
  • Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level Foundational in the Acquisition Career Engineer and Technical Management Field within 36 months of entrance on duty.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This is a TERM position intended to last for 2 YEARS, May be extended up to 5 Years, or made permanent.
  • Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 is required on pre-employment and annually thereafter.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. This position will be filled at the NH-02 (GS 05-11 equivalent) level with promotion potential to the full performance level, NH-03 (GS 12-13 equivalent) (after all other requirements are met and management approval).
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, you must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
AND
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (NH-01/GS-04) in the Federal Service which includes experience in:(1) Utilizing current IT hardware/software technology; AND (2) Overseeing projects concerned with the development of security plans, policy and procedures, and experience in applying knowledge of security standards, best practices and experienced in Java, Python, and C .
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-01/GS04)

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
