Dog Daycare Attendant --MUST BE WILLING AND ABLE TO WORK AT LEAST 1 OVERNIGHT PER WEEK AND 1 WEEKEND SHIFT PER WEEK-- $16-$19/hour based on experience

Tail Waggerz Pet Care in Newton has an opening for an experienced weekend dog daycare attendant, with some weekday and overnight shifts also available

Responsibilities:

• supervising large groups of dogs in an open play environment
• cleaning up after the dogs
• cleaning and sanitizing facility daily
• feeding dogs
• administering medications
• answering phones
• greeting customers
• checking dogs in and out

Requirements

• experience in a doggy daycare environment required (1 year minimum)
• ability to work a variety of shifts (Mon-Fri: 6hrs or 12hrs, Overnights: 12-14hrs, Weekends: 10hrs, Weekends Required)
• ability to handle dogs of all sizes
• experience supervising group of dogs greater than 20
• general knowledge of dog breeds and breed groups
• general knowledge of dog behavior and body language
• ability to be active and on your feet throughout your shift
• ability to lift 40lbs
• ability to multitask efficiently in a fast paced environment
• communication skills (with other staff members and customers)
• willingness and availability to work holidays
• positive attitude
• team player mentality (we are all team players here!)
• reliable transportation in all weather
• must be 18yrs or older

• We also have a small retail boutique, which can be a very fun and rewarding aspect of the company. If there is a new product on the market that you think is cool, we can add it to our inventory and sell it in our store. "Refacing" the store and giving it a new look is also a rewarding experience. • In regards to compensation, starting rates are listed above; however unlike most companies we offer your first review at three months with a potential dollar an hour raise. Experience with dogs in a professional capacity is required. The ideal candidate will be friendly, eager and willing to learn, hard working, and a team player.
