Overview:
The Town of Milford is seeking qualified applicants for a part-time (19 hours per week) Building Custodian. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our Police Station. This is an important role in ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our employees and visitors.

Duties:
- Perform general cleaning tasks, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas, such as hallways, lobbies, and break rooms
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, and other fixtures
- Perform floor care duties, including buffing and waxing floors
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed
- Follow established cleaning protocols and safety guidelines
- Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel

Requirements:
- Previous experience in commercial or industrial cleaning preferred
- Knowledge of custodial practices and procedures
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment and machinery
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of one (1) year prior custodial experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. This position works 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday – Thursday and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Fridays. The pay rate for this position is $23.11/hour.
