Job Summary

The Health Coach is responsible for evaluating and improving clients’ health and wellness. The responsibilities of a Health Coach include assessing clients’ health, coaching clients on how to improve their health and developing health care plans within the scope of the program.

In choosing to become a Health Coach, you should have an optimistic disposition, good conflict resolution skills, and possess the ability to effectively communicate. As a Health Coach you should be committed to improving the health of clients, exhibit good team working skills, and have self-confidence. Health and wellness coaches’ partner with clients seeking self-directed, lasting changes, aligned with their values, which promote health and wellness and, thereby, enhance well-being.

Qualifications and Skills

• Completion of Healthy Is Wellness training certification upon hire.
• Current BLS Certification
• Pharmacy Technician Licensure or Nursing Licensure preferred, but not required.
• Must stay current with program updates.
• Valid Montana Driver’s License
• Training in coaching, fitness, nursing, or nutrition.
• Previous experience working with clients.
• Knowledge of good health practices.
• Must be up-to date with the latest health care developments.
• Must have good organizational skills.
• Compassionate
• Ability to work in fast paced environment, stand, walk, bend, and use hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to learn about and instruct clients on use of “health associated technology” such as but not limited to In-Body Scanner and Sparta Force Plate.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
