Job Desription

We are seeking a skilled, reliable 2 and 4 cycle / small engine mechanic to join our growing company. In this position, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing small engine equipment, including zero-turn mowers, riding mowers, gas-powered handheld equipment, tractors, and other outdoor power equipment

Duties

Some Duties and Responsibilities:

Mechanic experience is a MUST.

Recondition and repair equipment assigned by the Service Manager.

Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner

Must have computer skills

Keep records required to establish the cost of service charges to the customer

Maintain a clean work area and care for shop tools and equipment

Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and able to lift to or over 40 pounds

Able to work independently or as an active member of a team

Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management

Requirements

• Education/Training: High School degree
• Possess a vast product knowledge of consumable products along with a willingness to learn.
• Strong organizational skills
• Knowledgeable of store policies and procedures
• Ability to solve problems, work independently, and check accuracy
• Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word and Excel a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business
• Willing to work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of the business
• Mechanical aptitude
• Mid-level engine service and repair ability
• Ability to learn
• Working knowledge of a wide range of equipment and its application
• Working knowledge of gas engines (Diesel is a plus)
• Adequate knowledge to inspect and test simple electric tools, motors, and equipment
• Basic engine and equipment troubleshooting
• Must speak clearly and write legibly in the English language.
• Ability to maintain a professional attitude and appearance
• Must be 18-years-old
• Good customer service skills

License and Certificates:

• Must possess and maintain a current valid Indiana Driver’s License
• Must be approved by the Insurance carrier to drive a company vehicle
• Upon hire must be willing to obtain and maintain forklift certification
• Must be willing to attend paid trainings for certifications

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $40,000.00 per year
