The Town of Brookline, is seeking an experienced professional to act as the Operations Manager for our Public Buildings Division. The Operations Manager perform supervisory and administrative work to ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, improvement and repair of all Public buildings (town and school) owned and operated by the Town of Brookline; works closely with the Energy Systems Manager regarding Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) work and Energy Conservation projects; and all other related work as required.

Education, Training, and Experience:
Associates degree in engineering; Bachelor's Degree in engineering or business helpful; five to seven years’ related experience in facilities management, project engineering, and/or supervision of building design and renovations; minimum of three years’ experience in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Special Requirements:
Possession of a Massachusetts Class D valid motor vehicle operator’s license required, MCPPO Certification.
Knowledge, Ability and Skill:
Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of the materials methods and techniques of building maintenance. Considerable knowledge of the materials, methods, safety precautions and techniques relative to building operations, and repair and maintenance programs. Knowledge of public bidding process. General knowledge of state building codes, including health/fire safety codes.
Ability: Ability to plan, schedule and review the work and performance of others in a manner conducive to proficient performance and high morale. Ability to read, understand and interpret plans and specifications. Must be highly organized; ability to plan effectively and work on multiple projects. Ability to perform budget management and analysis. Ability to write a variety of documents, including correspondence, proposals, and other persuasive and informative materials. Ability to resolve conflicts and maintain harmonious working relationships throughout the organization and with other agencies and departments. Ability to take initiative and apply considerable ingenuity and practical knowledge to interpret and resolve new, unusual, or particularly troublesome situations.
Skill: Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with other town employees and the general public. Skill in operating above mentioned equipment. Consensus/teambuilding skills. Computer skills for word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, and data tracking. Excellent supervisory skills.
