A dynamic, fast-paced, design-forward wallpaper company seeking a highly motivated and talented Production Assistant to join our creative team. The ideal candidate should have creative direction with a degree in Art, Graphic Design, and or Textile Design. Experience in textile design is a huge plus! The candidate should be well-organized and able to balance multiple projects simultaneously. This is a full-time position.

A.) Summary of position:

A direct report to the Operations Manager of Pre-production and Digital, the production assistant will be responsible for the preparation and execution of all custom and digital printing completed in-house at Tempaper & Co. They will utilize the Adobe Creative Suite, and a variety of other graphic software programs, to complete Custom and Art Department tasks in a manner that ensures client specifications are met and a high-quality product is produced.

The Production Assistant will serve as quality assurance for custom orders, ensuring customers receive the highest quality products that align with their expectations. For this reason, the Production Assistant must maintain a high attention to detail, a steady hand for trimming, and great care for the tasks that they are assigned.

The Production Assistant’s secondary function is to assist in the development of an array of visual assets such as marketing components and other necessary materials. They will prepare and execute all custom and digital printing completed in-house according to the necessary customer and department specifications. In this role, the Production Assistant will be tasked with shifting throughout the day between print production, order preparation, order fulfillment, and Art Department tasks. The Production Assistant must manage these tasks based on deadlines, machine capabilities, and client needs.

Please keep in mind; that this position does require the applicant to be away from a desk for most of the day, mostly working at a large worktable, to perform the daily tasks required. Much of the day will be standing.

B.) Description of Key Responsibilities:

Custom Orders

a. Serves as a secondary point of contact for custom order production.

b. Assists in building digital renderings, hardcopy proofs, and print files in the appropriate design software as each job requires.

c. Records and maintains records of customer orders, including a database of Quality Assurance photographs.

d. Records and maintains an active inventory of substrate for the custom orders department.

e. Operates large-format digital printers.

f. Performs routine maintenance for digital printers utilizing the appropriate hardware or software to address the problem.

g. Maintains large-format supply inventory, communicating when supplies need to be purchased to their manager.

h. Maintains custom sample inventory, printing/creating samples when necessary and adding inventory into NetSuite.

i. Manages and adjusts printing schedule to ensure custom and digitally printed orders are completed to meet all necessary deadlines.

j. Completes work orders in NetSuite ensuring inventory for completed orders is entered correctly and ready for fulfillment.

k. Works closely with the Orders Department to ensure seamless shipping of custom and digitally printed orders.

In-House Printing

a. Assists with all necessary in-house printing for the company including, but not limited to:

i. CADs for pattern production

ii. Proofs for Creative Director’s approval

iii. Marketing assets

iv. In-house assets

b. Utilizes design software and printer software/hardware to color correct and adjust files to meet client standards

Graphic Design

a. Supports the Art Department team in the completion of graphic design tasks.

b. Assists in the creation of digital content such as environments, swatches, and other marketing assets.

c. Serves as support for the Art Department team as needed in the absence of Art Department team members.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree or Vocational School Certificate

- Production experience 2-5 years

- Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite
