San Francisco AIDS Foundation (SFAF) envisions a future where health justice is achieved for all people living with or at risk for HIV. Position Overview:::
The Community Mobilization Manager at the San Francisco AIDS Foundation will play a crucial role in various initiatives building support for effective, evidence-based approaches to substance use and recovery and advocating for people who use drugs. This position will coordinate the Treatment on Demand Coalition and organize people who use drugs including people in recovery through the HIV Advocacy Network (HAN).
Essential Duties::

• Communication:: Provide updates to SFAF staff, volunteers, and program participants through newsletters, SFAF website, Teams, and other communication channels.

• Additional responsibilities: Take on additional responsibilities as assigned within the broader scope of the organization's harm reduction and health policy initiatives.

Essential Qualifications:::

• Ability to navigate complex policy ideas and translate them into actionable initiatives.

• Motivated, committed to social justice, capable of independent and collaborative work.

• Demonstrated experience working effectively with people who use drugs including people in recovery.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint and in Google suite, especially Google docs.

Physical Requirements and Work Environments:::
Skill in operating equipment such as a personal computer, copy machine and telephone system. Ability to perform routine bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching. Ability to lift and carry supplies for events. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Education and Experience:: :

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum of 3: years of work in community engagement or organizing

• Meeting facilitation skills

• Experience supporting coalitions or volunteer community groups strongly preferred

• Experience working with people who use drugs, LGBTQ individuals, Black, Indigenous and People of Color.

• Experience with public speaking and community presentations preferred

Work Environment:::
This position may work remotely or be located at 940 Howard Street or 470 Castro Street,: San Francisco. This position does require regular attendance at in-person meetings and events, and may occasionally require traveling to other office locations or off-site meetings. Role will include evening and weekend coverage for advocacy and educational events.
