At St. John the Evangelist School our student body is highly engaged, and our parents are very invested in their children's education.
We are seeking an innovative social studies teacher to work with our middle school (grades 6-8) social studies program. Our ideal candidate will present content in an unbiased and objective manner and will create a classroom climate where students feel comfortable expressing differing opinions. We want our students to feel pride in their country and its place in the world.
Our social studies teacher will have the ability to motivate our students and help them develop a strong interest in various disciplines within social studies. Working with the middle school team on cross curricular projects is also important. Candidates must also exhibit outstanding verbal, written and presentation skills when dealing with students, parents, fellow teachers and administration. Organizational skills are key as this teacher also plans and organizes many of our 8th grade graduation activities. Candidates must be licensed in Indiana or have the ability to become licensed in Indiana.
