POSITION SUMMARY
The Nurse Delegator ensures that resident care needs are met by delegating nursing tasks, training staff, and overseeing medication services related to Delegations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Delegates nursing tasks as allowed under applicable WA state nursing laws and practice acts, communicating with residents, their families, and their health care practitioners.
2. Provides training for Med Tech staff related to medication management and RN Delegated Services.
3. Assesses health, functional, and psychosocial status of residents per RN delegation requirements.
4. Completes written assessments and documentation per WA RN Delgation regulations, policies and procedures.
5. Maintains and oversees the delegated medication services including staff training, staff oversight, pharmacy coordination, medication room, and medication systems.
6. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all rules, regulations and policies pertaining to resident care and RN Delegation.
7. Performs other duties as assigned and agreed upon per contract.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Must have current, unencumbered RN license in the state of practice. Must have delegation experience in WA. Experience in geriatric nursing, medication administration, case management, and training and staff development preferred.
EDUCATION
Registered Nurse license with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing, may also be a diploma RN.
