St. John Fisher School is looking for an Academic Support Coordinator to work 3 days a week beginning with our 2024-25 academic year. This position provides flexibility in work schedule, comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental and vision), and a retirement plan (after 6 months employment).
This position entails:
· administering an annual universal screening assessment for all students in grades K – 3 (DIBELS and/or Renaissance STAR)
· analyzing assessment data (DIBELS and Renaissance STAR Early Literacy, Reading and Math)
· creating and coordinating Individual Learning Plans and Individual Service Plans with classroom teachers and parents
· assisting teachers with modifying curriculum
· administering small group tiered instruction (preference in Orton-Gillingham reading instruction)
· working with RTI teams and special education is preferred
Qualified applicants should have:
· college degree with studies in education and/or literacy instruction
· successful completion of a teacher certification program at an accredited college or university
· knowledge of early childhood development and ability to apply that knowledge to the selection and application of curriculum materials and instructional practices
· demonstrated ability to function effectively as a teacher leader to include gaining the confidence and support of all members of the professional learning community
· commitment to participate in professional growth opportunities and self-reflection on professional practice
