Are you an Access Control/Surveillance Technician that enjoys working with your hands and interested in new technologies? Take the knowledge you already have about Access Control and Surveillance Systems and expand that into working with systems that not only control the security, but also audio, video, lighting, temperature control, security, access control, and CCTV.
Locally owned and operated, Chattanooga-based company Smart Systems is looking for Technicians to join our team. This is a full-time field position with daily report to headquarters and travel to job sites. You will work with a Lead Technician, Project Manager, and Project Engineer to successfully install custom, in-house designed systems in both the residential and commercial market.
Required:
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with Access Control/ Surveillance Systems.
· A strong desire to work in and contribute to a successful team environment.
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Current and maintainable valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
· Professional image
· An attention to detail
· General construction knowledge
· Advanced computer skills
· Excellent reasoning skills, particularly regarding carrying out instructions received through a variety of forms.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent time management skills, such as prompt arrival for work and adherence to a tight project installation schedule
Responsibilities:
· Installing a variety of equipment, including but not limited to network routers, switches, wireless access points, completed automation system equipment racks, projectors, monitors, mounts, security systems, CCTV systems, lighting, temperature, and access control systems.
· Assisting with testing system components to ensure successful installation.
· Verifying each system’s physical completeness is in accordance with installation drawings.
· Using company approved installation methods and techniques.
· Maintaining an on-going dialog with the Lead Installation Technician and Project Manager to ensure that work quality, performance, and materials all meet the required schedules and expectations.
· Submitting daily activity logs of work completed via Work Orders
· Complying with all aspects of the Employee Handbook, Installation Handbook, and all other company directives
· Must be able to stand, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
· Must be able to lift more than 50 pounds.
· Must be able to maintain a safety-minded approach to all activities.
Benefits:
· The hourly wage for this position is commensurate with experience: $22 - $26/hour.
· Increases are based upon work performance, certifications obtained, and time in service.
