JOB SUMMARYThis position provides support within the residential department to ensure an optimum experience for the client/resident and assist the residential coordinator in smooth operation of residential functions.

SHIFTS: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Residential Assistant assists in supervision and training BHTs that are on duty

RESIDENTIAL ASSISTANT DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Greet, welcome and assist clients/residents, vendors and guests, to provide welcoming and professional image of organization
  • Assist staff with the passing of medications to ensure client services are running smoothly
  • Provide new resident orientation and intake to familiarize resident with facility, rules, expectations and programming including required paperwork signed and added to their charts
  • Delegate to BHT staff the setup of new resident rooms to provide a safe, clean and welcoming residential environment
  • Cover the front desk duties when the office assistant is gone.
  • Delegate to BHT staff, or supervise the monitoring of client movement and activity through sign-in/sign-out to ensure secure environment and adherence to program and provide Staff monitoring presence throughout the day by completing regular building inspections
  • Facilitate and delegate community group
  • Approve weekly client passes/outing requests along with their treatment team. Communicate to BHTS
  • Print out weekly UA lists for the building assigned to for BHTS to collect at random
  • Update house list and end of day forms
  • Attend interdisciplinary staff meetings as directed by the manager
  • Arrange for, and delegate the conduction of resident room searches for contraband items to comply with ShareHouse residential rules and procedures
  • Perform administrative duties to include faxing, filing, mailing, data entry, copying and assembling client information to provide smooth operation of residential department and business office
  • Provide and maintain reliable and prompt attendance, with the ability to work the schedule dictated by business necessity
  • Perform breathalyzer and urine drug screens on clients as required and maintain appropriate documentation to ensure drug- and alcohol-free living environment.
  • Accompanies canine drug searches of residential client areas, scheduling as directed by the manager
  • Regular rounding on facility to ensure cleanliness and “show ready” apartment conditions
  • Fill in for BHT staff, or assist during busy times the BHT floor when needed
  • Create a recreational activity list for high intensity clients, and order supplies as needed as directed by the manager
  • Provide/update documentation for all clients’ day to day activities as needed
  • Assist in the hiring process with manager when requested, train new BHTs
  • Attend staffing as needed

PERIODIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist office assistant with scheduling of organization resources to include meeting rooms and vehicles
  • Fill in for front desk office assistant and BHTs as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent
  • Prefer two years’ experience in related field

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATES

  • Must be required to be CPR, Medication and First Aid Certified within 2 months of hire
  • Required to have valid driver’s license and have clean driving record according to company insurance standards depending on program/location

  • Ability to type/keyboard with minimal errors

  • Standing for up to 1 hour

  • Pushing and pulling, lifting and carrying up to 15 lbs

  • Ability to utilize fine motor skills, reach and grasp
  • Operate a motor vehicle

Occasionally requires:

  • Standing for more than 1 hour at a time
