- Troubleshoots all aspects of PLC and PC electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery
- Provides and/or coordinates technical support for PLC hardware and software
- May be responsible for the design, development, modification and installation of PLC based hardware and software
- Provide training, as required, to departmental technicians
- Locate and repair faults in extruders, materials systems, facility power distribution
- systems and any electrical related systems
- Troubleshoot and repair AC and DC drives
- Prepare purchase orders for parts and supplies needed
- Make repairs to mechanical hydraulic, pneumatic and other industrial systems
- Must perform job in a manner that is safe for all employees as well as self
- May be required to provide “on call” stand by response to emergency repairs when assigned
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Must have own tools and storage cabinets.
- Adhere to all safety policies and best practices
- Document all activities as required
- Adhere to all company guidelines for emergency evacuation to ensure employee safety
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas (5S)
- Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures (5S) i.e. production floor, shipping & receiving office and warehouse as needed
- Ability to communicate and understand verbal and written instructions in English
- Perform other duties as assigned or required
- Requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
- Able to maintain confidential information
- Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands to fingers, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls to work in an office/production environment
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus to work
